All Saints Dinner
Tuesday, November 1st 8-10 pm
On All Saints Day, Curator Legacy Russell, Elizabeth Koke, Mark Joshua Epstein, Nora Clancy, and Maria Dizzia host a guerrilla gala, in a rite of remembrance. Each guest will prepare a dish selected from the recipes of the deceased and idolized. Throughout the evening guests will engage in a collaborative ceremony of eating and memorializing.
Elizabeth Koke is a writer, organizer, and educator who works as a publicist for The Feminist Press at CUNY. She has an M.A. in Performance Studies from New York University and loves vegan food, lipstick, and dance parties.
Mark Joshua Epstein is a Brooklyn based maker of paintings, collages and animations. He is also the founder of “One Night Stands”, a bimonthly art party wherein participants focus on one piece, by one artist, for one night. Recent shows include “The New Intimists” at Nurtureart, Brooklyn and “Space Series #1″ at TrueSilver Union, San Francisco. He has been an artist in residence at the Jentel Foundation, Klondike Institute for Arts and Culture and the Macdowell Colony, amongst others.
Nora Clancy is a graduate student at the Pratt School of Library and Information Science and a patron of the arts.
Maria Dizzia is an actor. Most recent credits include Lincoln Center Theater’s installation Portraits in Dramatic Time, Adam Rapp’s Hallway Trilogy, In the Next Room (or the vibrator play) by Sarah Ruhl and Sean Durkin’s film Martha Marcy May Marlene. She is an artistic associate with The Civilians and a graduate of UCSD.
Curator Legacy Russell (LEGACY) is an East Village born-and-bred artist, writer, curator, and creative producer. Residing in New York City, Legacy has worked at The Bruce High Quality Foundation, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Brooklyn Museum of Art; in 2010 she was granted a six-month Curatorial Fellowship with CREATIVE TIME. Legacy is the co-founder of online journal and project space ContactProject.net (CONTACT) and was recently appointed as Art Editor of BOMB magazine renowned online journal, BOMBlog.
